Maandag 24 juni: kunstenaarslezingen
door Pablo Pijnappel en Giles Bailey

Op maandag 24 juni organiseren Contour en de Academie Mechelen een tweede sessie kunstenaarslezingen naar aanloop van de 6de Biënnale voor Bewegend Beeld (24.08 – 03.11.2013).

De kunstenaars Pablo Pijnappel (FR) en Giles Bailey (UK) vertellen maandagavond in woord en beeld over hun artistieke praktijk.

Pijnappel brengt zijn lezing in de vorm van een performance. Bailey praat over een aantal van zijn recente werken.

Beide kunstenaars geven bovendien uitleg over de nieuwe productie die ze zullen realiseren voor Contour 2013. De komende weken gaan ze in de Mechelse gevangenis met een aantal gedetineerden aan de slag. Het resultaat zal tijdens de biënnale te zien zijn.

In de herfst volgt een tweede reeks kunstenaarsgesprekken.

Monday 24 June: artist talks
by Pablo Pijnappel and Giles Bailey

On Monday 24 June, Contour and the Mechelen Academy of Fine Arts are organising a second session of artist talks in the lead-up to the 6th Biennial of Moving Image (24.08-03.11.2013).

Artists Pablo Pijnappel (FR) and Giles Bailey (UK) will talk about their artistic practice, using words and images.

Pijnappel’s lecture will take the form of a performance. Bailey will elaborate on some of his recent works.

Both artists will explain more about the new production they are creating for Contour 2013. In the following weeks, they will be working at the Mechelen prison with several inmates. You’ll be able to see the results at the biennial.

More artist talks will follow in the autumn.
